What makes the Cherubum™ Personal Hygiene System so different from a simple enema (fountain) kit or home colon cleansing board?
Although the usefulness of internal cleansing has been well-documented and valued historically, it is often overlooked because the tools of home internal cleansing have been awkward or incomplete.
The Cherubum™ Personal Hygiene System revolutionizes home internal cleansing by providing: (1) a portable, strong, and stable self-standing Lavage Chair™ on which to conduct your internal cleansing. No more rickety boards or home-made platforms; (2) a conceptual design that allows you to stay in the right position for keeping the enema tip inserted comfortably in the body while taking water into the colon and eliminating thoroughly. Water is taken in and waste is expelled simultaneously, without the jumping up and down from floor to toilet associated with fountain kits; and (3) everything needed to get you started on the path of personal cleansing from the Lavage Chair™ to the lubricant--just add water!
These reasons and more make the Cherubum™ Personal Hygiene System a tool for self-care whose time has come.

Can I use other water containers with the Cherubum™ Lavage Chair™ besides the 9L (2.37 gallons) Water Container that comes with it?
The 9L Water Container is the largest container rated for use with the telescopic handle and wire hanger on the Cherubum™ Lavage Chair™. However, the Cherubum™ Lavage Chair™ has a quick connect/disconnect feature for easy removal and exchange of the 9L Water Container. A 5 Gallon (18.9 liters) Water Container accessory is sold separately. We recommend a very stable shelf adjacent to the positioned Lavage Chair™ to hold the 5 Gallon Container as water weighs 8 lbs. per gallon (5 gallons = 40 lbs).

Can I hang more than one 9L Water Container from the telescopic stand?
No. Although people may purchase an additional 9L Water Container for successive use, the telescopic handle and wire hanger are rated for just one water container at a time.

What is the proper temperature of water for an internal cleansing session?
The recommended safe range for water is between 99-102 degrees F. for a cleanse. Hot tap water may burn the skin. Consult your healthcare practitioner as necessary.

How does the built-in backflow prevention valve work and what is it for?
The backflow prevention valve is a ball check valve hidden in the Lavage Chair™ that allows water to flow only one way--from the water container through the Lavage Chair™ flex tube and enema tip and into the person. Since the unique design of the Lavage Chair™ allows you to keep the enema tip inserted during a water and waste release, the backflow prevention valve prevents water or waste from returning into the line and contaminating the water container in use. During cleaning, disinfectant can be sprayed up into the basin nylon barbed fitting to sanitize it. Rinse thoroughly by flowing water through the nylon barbed fitting from the connected water container on the other side.

Can I sanitize and re-use the personal hygiene tips and Lavage Chair™ Flex tubes?
Yes. The Spirit II sanitizing solution that comes with the Cherubum™ or any other appropriate sanitizer can be used to sanitize your personal tips or flex tubes for reuse. Always rinse thoroughly before use. Alternatively, tips and flex tubes can be purchased for each use (see Hygiene Disposables -- Replacement Kits A, B, and C).

How do I sanitize the 9L Water Container?
All of the flexible vinyl tubing and the water container itself can be sanitized with soap and water or with the Spirit II ready-to-use disinfectant included with the Cherubum™ Personal Hygiene System. Follow the label instructions and rinse the components thoroughly before each use.

Is the Cherubum™ Lavage Chair™ easy to sanitize?
Yes. Its high-quality polyethylene body can be sanitized and washed with the included ready-to-use Spirit II disinfectant or other disinfectant of your choice. The basin (seat) section of the Lavage Chair™ can be mop washed, sanitized, and then rinsed with the versatile shower spray head connected to the 9L Water Container. All sides can be easily and effectively spray disinfected, rinsed, and wiped dry as needed.

How is the inflatable pillow that comes with the Cherubum™ to be used?

What if the Cherubum™ doesn't fit in my bathroom…can I still use it?
When the Cherubum™ Lavage Chair™ is open and ready to use, its dimensions are 54 L x 25 W x 33 H. If no bathroom or toilet in your space works, you can still use the Cherubum™ and here's how: the Cherubum™ Lavage Chair™ can be docked over a bathtub rim, over a shower pan in a shower stall, or over the Dolli-bowl™ collection container accessory made specifically for use with the Lavage Chair™. The Dolli-bowl™ is a catch basin that can be rolled to the toilet for emptying. The Cherubum™ Lavage Chair™ is designed to be truly a stand-alone system to meet all your internal cleansing needs.

Can I transport the Cherubum™?
The Cherubum™ Lavage Chair™ backrest folds forward and its base is equipped with wheels allowing easy portability and maneuverability. The Lavage Chair™ Cover (optional accessory) is a useful protection while in transit. The dimensions of the folded unit are approximately 46 L x 25 W x 33 H and it weighs approximately 65 lbs. It can fit into a hatch-back vehicle, mini-van, or open-bed vehicle easily. It can go wherever you are going to support your self-care needs!
